Gather Your Hardware

What hardware do I need?

To follow this tutorial you only need a few things, all of which and more come in the starter kit I mentioned before.

• A CircuitPython capable microcontroller
  • I'd suggest an RP2040 or RP2350 board to start.
  • Make sure it already has the pins soldered on if you do not have a soldering iron.
• A breadboard
• An LED (any color)
• A 1k resistor
• A set of jumper wires
• A data capable USB cable for your microcontroller

You can start with just the microcontroller and get everything set up but you will need the rest of the components to be able to do anything with it.
